WP3: Cultural adaptation of OSI content

The team will conduct iterative co-adaptation processes with Expert Reference Groups (ERGs; comprising parents, clinicians, school counsellors, children) in each country to create culturally appropriate versions of OSI, using the Non-adoption, Abandonment, Scale-up, Spread, and Sustainability Framework (Greenhalgh et al., 2017) to facilitate future implementation. We will collaboratively map similarities and differences between contexts, making adaptations that address cross-setting issues while identifying setting specific needs, considering unintended consequences of adaptations, following ADAPT (Moore et al., 2021) and MADI recommendations (Kirk et al., 2020) while maintaining a focus on the intervention active ingredients. From consultations to date, anticipated shared issues to address (here and in WP4) include mental health literacy, stigma, parenting efficacy, digital literacy, competing demands on schools and families, involvement of non-parent caretakers, and variable backgrounds among school counsellors.
