Estesa Xaris Que Legaspi, Ph. D.

Associate Professor

Dr. Legaspi is deeply committed to nurturing inclusive, ethical, and culturally grounded counseling practice, weaving this commitment through her teaching, research, and leadership. As an Associate Professor in De La Salle University’s Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology, she helps strengthen counselor education, support systems, and developmentally responsive mental health care. From 2021 to 2025, she served as the inaugural director of the Lasallian Center for Inclusion, Diversity and Well-being (LCIDWell), guiding its early programs with care and intention. She applies insights from her research on counseling practice, ethics, help-seeking, and mental health to enhance training, supervision, and policy work, remaining attentive to how culture, motivation, and systems influence the counseling experience. Beyond the classroom, she supports practitioners through seminars, workshops, and capacity-building efforts on emotional intelligence, wellness, and responsible practice. Grounded in more than a decade of full-time counseling work, her long-term aim is to help foster accessible, compassionate, and responsive counseling services for diverse Filipino communities.
