
Dr. Yuki Miyamoto
Associate Professor
Dr. Yuki Miyamoto is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychiatric Nursing, Graduate School of Medicine, the University of Tokyo, Japan. She obtained a PhD at the Division of Health Sciences and Nursing, Graduate School of Medicine, the University of Tokyo in 2002.
Her area of expertise is mental health and psychiatric nursing, with a specialized focus on promoting the wellbeing of individuals who have lived experience of mental health difficulties. Dr. Miyamoto is actively engaged in promoting the co-production methodology in the mental health area, which involves creating both clinical services and research agendas in genuine partnership with service users and people with lived experience.
Her insights have significantly contributed to the development of Recovery Colleges in Japan, and also contributed to the establishment of the peer support reimbursement system (peer support remuneration for disability welfare) within the Japanese national social welfare structure. She actively advocates for the integration of lived experience knowledge into global clinical and policy frameworks.
